Family Friendly Diving

These days, if you can’t include children in an activity, you often exclude the entire family. At Narima Diving we aim to give parents a memorable guilt-free family dive vacation, and their children an experience of a lifetime, learning to dive.

father-and-sonParents are concerned about their childrens’ health and happiness. At Narima Diving we understand that you want to raise your children well and not lose touch with who they are. Scuba diving is a family activity that crosses generations. Families that dive together set goals and look forward to spending time together. A tradition of scuba diving can bond a family, making children feel secure, stable and special. Scuba attracts young people because it combines adventure, thrills and fun.

darrel and childNarima Diving staff are comfortable, skilled and experienced in teaching children. Our Instructors realise that children often need more recognition, reassurance, praise and positive reinforcement than adults to remain focused and motivated. By being supportive, we intend to create a non-threatening and fun environment conducive to learning. Our dive team let children know we recognize and appreciate their efforts, which encourages them to keep trying. Diving builds character, boosts self-esteem, personal recognition and self-confidence. It also provides rules to respect, and lays the foundation to develop new skills and responsibilities. We strive to inspire children to not only enjoy but protect our underwater world. At Narima Diving we stock dive equipment designed specifically for younger people, including smaller, lighter tanks, XXS BCD’s and wetsuits, kids masks, small fin sizes and even underwater toys!

We are careful not to bore the kids, and always have a few new tricks up our neoprene to keep their interest, which, as television tells us, doesn’t last much more than 10 minutes;). One of the greatest underwater toys is a rubber torpedo, a flick of the wrist sends the torpedo gracefully across the pool. This is remarkably satisfying (even for adults), so come and join in a game of relays. We could also use hula hoops to make obstacle courses (great for kids learning open water buoyancy skills). Other classic games include the ping pong ball and spoon race, or even underwater Frisbee (no description required, but be prepared for some intense competition). Other than our imagination and creativity, there is no end to the fun we can have.
