Narima Resort is a beautifully designed, eco-chic bungalow resort set amongst the coconut palms and rainforest trees of its own private bay on the unspoilt south coast of Lanta Island, Thailand. A warm welcome and personal service await you…
The Narima Resort is located near the Ko Lanta’s National Marine Park in the Klong Nin Beach area. Their accommodation comprises 32 bungalows, a stunning 3-tiered swimming pool, a large airy restaurant, laid-back beach bar and PADI Dive Centre. The understated, natural luxury, tranquil rainforest surroundings and the charming personal service of hosts, Dr. Nopawan and Dr. Yodchai Jotiban, combine to make this somewhere we hope you’ll feel immediately at home, and want to return to, time and time again.
The resort’s focus is on your enjoyment. The owners and staff are discreetly at your disposal to make your stay a thoroughly pleasant one.
Enjoy sunbathing on the private beach, take a stroll in the rainforest, explore the island, scuba dive at some of Thailand’s top dive sites or snorkel in pristine aquamarine waters or just relax in a stunning, natural setting.
The large grounds of Narima can be found on an unspoiled section of Ko Lanta’s rugged coastline with sea views of distant tropical islands. The thirty-two, architect designed bungalows are set amongst the natural rain forest that has been growing on this island for thousands of years. It is still a lush, green haven for plants and animals.
As you wander through the grounds of the resort, you’ll see many kinds of tropical flowers, plants and orchids.
Narima Resort’s small piece of jungle is also home to many kinds of fascinating wildlife such as sea eagles, kestrels, herons and other birds, butterflies, monitor lizards and even the odd inquisitive monkey!
You can also see elephants wandering past the resort on their way to work each morning – they like to stop and eat the pineapple skins that Narima’s kitchen keeps especially for them!
The resort has a large 3-tiered swimming pool. The highest level is a jacuzzi spa pool – great for enjoying the sunset with a cocktail.
The large main pool has an infinity view out to sea and onto the horizon. There is a wide step the length of the pool, which is perfect for reading a book on. The lower level has a small, shallow children’s pool.
All the buildings have been designed to the highest standards by one of Thailand’s best architects, and use natural materials that blend well into the quiet secluded setting.
Narima invites you to come and share a little piece of their island dream. If you are interested in staying at the Narima, have a look at the accommodation prices. The Narima Resort is owned and managed by Thai couple Dr. Yodchai and Dr. Nopawan Jotiban.
They both left Thailand to study in Colorado where they achieved their PhD degrees in Engineering and Sociology. After meeting and falling in love in Colorado, they returned to Thailand in 1977 and married the next year. In 1989 they visited Ko Lanta where they fell in love with this fabulous plot of land on the rugged coastline.
For the next eleven years they daydreamed about designing and building their retirement home. During this time, Nopawan taught graduate programs in Bangkok while Yodchai enjoyed an illustrious career at the Petroleum Authority of Thailand.
In 2001 they were both offered early retirement and seized the chance to make a start on their beloved island dream. They approached their Colorado friend Seri Thanachanan, now one of Thailand’s top architects, to design The Narima.
While they are new to tourism, both share a love of people and a clear vision of how a resort should be.
The Narima is fast becoming famous for their special brand of hospitality and the beautiful place they have made.
